Spent a fabulous day at Perth’s most popular beach, Cottesloe Beach. Before throwing us in the world of sand castles and in the waves of the Indian Ocean, we got to enjoy some outdoors art in a form of amazing ‘sculpture park’.
Sculpture by the Sea – the 10th annual Cottesloe exhibition – consisted of amazing sculptures made by over 70 local, interstate and international artists. My own favorite installation (and the one that later won the people's choice award) was a sculptural installation called ‘wave1' by Belgian artist Annette Thas. Imagine a giant over 9 feet tall and 12 feet wide ‘Barbie wave’ at the Cottesloe Beach’s pristine sand – a wave constructed of 3000-5000 recycled Barbie dolls! (I know you can’t so check few photos underneath and for example here.)
Needless to say how much fun our kids had with this stuff. Think my Roxy Girl also camouflaged herself quite well into one of the installations.
