A long weekend in Istanbul, Turkey.
With the plan to participate in the Istanbul Marathon, but due to flu, ran instead between beautiful historical sights like Hagia Sophia, Sultan Ahmed Mosque, the Grand Bazaar - and some amazing restaurants. This city is food lovers' paradise with humble kebab joints to fancy fish venues, and all the possible good options there in between. An excellent one to recommend for is the Meze by Lemon Tree, and one good option from the upscale the Tugra Restaurant & Lounge at the Ģirağan Palace Kempinski. The later, the ultimate Ottoman dining experience as they promised.
Expected to escape from rainy and dark Helsinki to warm and sunny Istanbul, but weren't too lucky with the weather. An awesome weekend anyway. Hope to come back soon.
