The 15th Stop: Wellington, New Zealand. The only capital city in the world located in the 'Roaring Forties', of which the nickname Windy Wellington. And I say a nickname well deserved - it was windy! Running against the wind? Well, twice I tried it. Life is wonderful when you are running with the wind at your back, and when it is in your face, life is...well, not-so-great. We arrived in a sunny summer city, but got 5 rainy days after that. Though not so bad, as had rented a perfect penthouse apartment @ Evans Bay, and the city had fun places with indoor activities - not only the National Museum of New Zealand Te Papa, but also heaps of other cool stuff. (And Oh Boys, the Boy enjoyed those rainy days.) On the days with slightly better weather, took the Cable Car from Lambton Quay up to Kelburn and the Botanic Garden, and strolled down the bohemian Cuba Street and Wellington's beautiful waterfront. Not many pictures, a few though - before continuing to the South Island.
